The trailer has a roller shutter with space behind it for drop-off pillars. The charging station comes standard with a type 2 plug and an adapter for the older type 1 plugs (such as the Nissan Leaf), so all cars can be charged. The batteries are monitored by a battery management system, which uses energy from the battery pack. Communication is via CAN bus.
